Terms & Conditions

By booking or attending training with Paw Forward Dog Training, you agree to the following terms and policies. These are in place to ensure a safe, supportive and effective learning experience for everyone.


Training Approach & Expectations

Paw Forward uses kind, reward-based training methods only. All training is designed to be fun, effective, and tailored to you and your dog.

Results vary depending on factors including your dog’s breed, background, and how much time you invest between sessions. We do not offer guarantees.


Training Sessions 

  • Sessions last up to one hour but may end early if your dog is tired or unable to continue.
  • Please arrive on time with any recommended equipment and treats. Missed time due to lateness cannot be made up.
  • If you’re more than 15 minutes late without notice, the session may be forfeited and charged in full.
  • If your trainer is late, they will either make up the time or offer a rescheduled session.


For Premium Package clients:

  • You get one 30-minute video call per month, which must be used within the calendar month.
  • You’ll be sent a link in advance – please ensure a quiet space, good internet, and send any questions or videos ahead of time.


Support Between Sessions 

Support is available via WhatsApp/email for questions, updates, or video feedback. Messages are typically answered within 24–48 hours.


Children in Sessions 

Children are welcome but must be calm, quiet, and supervised at all times. Please speak to them beforehand about the importance of listening during sessions.


Photos & Videos 

You may be photographed or filmed during sessions for progress tracking or social media. Let us know in advance if you’d prefer not to be included.


Safety & Equipment 

  • You are responsible for your dog at all times.
  • No harsh handling or aversive tools (e.g. choke chains, prong collars, slip leads) are allowed.
  • All dogs must be microchipped and wear a tag with your name and full address or postcode, as required by law.
  • Suitable harnesses and 2m+ leads are recommended. Flexi/extendable leads are not allowed unless previously agreed.

Your trainer may suggest equipment such as leads or harnesses to support your dog’s progress. These are optional and explained clearly.


Stooge Dogs 

Sometimes your trainer may bring a stooge dog to assist in sessions. This will always be assessed as appropriate for your dog.


Health & Behaviour 

  • You must inform us of any relevant behaviour history or health conditions before booking.
  • If your dog becomes unwell, shows signs of fleas/ticks/lice, or is in season, please let us know. In some cases, we may move you to online sessions or ask you not to attend in person.
  • Aggressive or unsafe behaviour may result in immediate session termination, with no refund.
  • Owners accept that training in group settings carries some risk of illness (e.g. kennel cough) despite vaccinations.


Weather & Rescheduling 

In extreme weather (e.g. high heat or storms), sessions may be delayed or cancelled for safety reasons. If you can’t attend the rescheduled date, refunds will not be issued.


Bookings & Cancellations 

  • Payment is due within 7 days of invoice or 48 hours before your first session (whichever is sooner).
  • Sessions must be booked using the link provided in your welcome pack.
  • Sessions must be used within your package time frame. No rollovers or refunds for missed/expired sessions.
  • All bookings are subject to availability -- please book early to secure your preferred slots.


 Cancellations & Refunds 

  • 48+ hours notice: Sessions can be rescheduled or cancelled without charge.
  • Less than 48 hours or no-show: The session will be deducted from your package and charged in full.
  • Package refunds requested within 48 hours of payment will incur a £10 admin fee.
  • No refunds will be given once access to online materials has been provided.

If illness or emergency prevents you from attending, please contact us as soon as possible. In some cases, we may ask for confirmation (e.g. vet note) to reschedule within policy.


Behaviour & Conduct 

Paw Forward reserves the right to cancel any booking without refund if a client displays abusive behaviour or breaches these terms.

Refer a Friend 

This referral scheme is open to current and previous Paw Forward clients who have completed at least one course, 1:1 session, or training package.


How It Works 

To qualify, the person you're referring must:

  • Be brand new to Paw Forward (i.e. never booked with us before).
  • Mention your name at the time of booking. If your name is given after booking, we may not be able to apply for the reward.


Referral Rewards 

You’ll receive a thank-you gift when your referral completes their booking and makes full payment:

  • Course: 1x JR Pâté (approx. £5)
  • 3-Month Package: Voucher for an enclosed dog field (approx. £10)
  • 6-Month Package: Dog treat hamper (approx. £15)

Rewards are typically given in person at your next session or class. If that’s not possible (e.g. you're no longer attending or have moved), an alternative reward of similar value will be arranged.


Important Notes 

  • One reward per referred client.
  • You can refer multiple people and receive multiple rewards.
  • Rewards cannot be exchanged for cash.
  • Paw Forward may update or withdraw this referral scheme at any time.

If your referral is paying in installments, the reward will be issued after the first full month’s payment. If they cancel or default, Paw Forward may withhold or adjust the reward accordingly.
