Meet the Team

Hi, I’m Shannon, a dog trainer based in Burbage, Leicestershire, where I live with my Labradors, Bellagio and Rupert (who often feature in my training demos — and daily chaos!).

My journey into dog training started with my own dogs, and like many owners, I didn’t have all the answers at first. But I was determined to build a calm, cooperative relationship based on trust — and that passion has become the heart of my work as a professional dog trainer in Leicestershire.

I’ve completed an extensive, mentor-supported programme focused on modern, ethical, reward-based dog training, and I’m currently studying canine behaviour with the ISCP. I also continue my development through courses with The IMDT, The British College of Canine Studies, and as a member of The Pet Professional Network.

I specialise in pet gundog training, adolescence, and general life skills, and I’m currently training in Hoopers — a fun, low-impact activity that’s ideal for dogs of all breeds and ages. I work with dogs and owners across Burbage, Hinckley, surrounding areas, and online, helping them build stronger, more enjoyable relationships.

I’m also part of The Association of Dog Training Specialists — a trusted network of qualified trainers with different specialities. We regularly collaborate on cases to give our clients the best support possible.

Whether you’ve got a bouncy adolescent, a working breed with a lot to say, or just want a more relaxed, enjoyable life with your dog, I’m here to support you with kind, practical training that works for real life.

Bellagio

Bellagio is a working line Labrador Retriever, born in February 2023. He’s incredibly eager to learn and absolutely thrives on training — especially if it involves dummies or a body of water. Whether it’s gundog training, tricks, or trying something completely new, he’s all in.

Once he’s in the zone, he’s epic — focused, driven, and a total joy to work with. But like any adolescent, it sometimes takes a moment to get there. He’s a classic teenage lad: part athlete, part goofball, rocket.

Bellagio is a thinker and a worker — but above all, he’s my right-hand dog and a huge part of the PFDT team.

Rupert

Rupert is Bellagio’s (not-so-little) younger brother, born in April 2024. They share the same parents, but definitely not the same personality! While Bellagio storms into everything life has to offer, Rupert is a softer soul — playful, sweet, and full of charm, but not the most confident lad.

We’re navigating life at his pace, helping him build resilience and settle into the world around him. He’s full of love and mischief in equal measure.

When he’s not following his big brother around like a duckling, you’ll find him snoozing on the chair or clattering through the house with a toy… or some socks… or a T-shirt… or the duvet — anything he can get his slobbery chops on.
